Year 2000 First Step:

To help your business take the important first step toward Year 2000 compliance, Industry Canada's Student Connection Program and CIBC have joined forces to develop Year 2000 First Step. It is a program designed to evaluate your company's unique Year 2000 challenges and help you get on your way to being 'Y2K ready'.

With Year 2000 First Step, your business receives a customized, hands-on evaluation by a specially trained post-secondary student. The student will visit your workplace to assess your computer system and software and will discuss what you can do to prepare your company for the future.

Your assessment includes:

  • Year 2000 awareness
  • Inventory of computer systems
  • Simple diagnosis of software and hardware
  • A review of your business risks
  • A detailed report and suggested action plan

While Year 2000 First Step will not completely solve all your issues, it will help you take that initial first step. This assessment costs $195, plus tax. This includes an assessment of ten PCs. For more information on Year 2000 First Step call: 1-888-807-7777 or visit:
